You neglect that most Crystalline drops from HoH had a shitty modifier. That's no longer the case with an inscribable version.

Lol, I was actually starting to play GW again aswell as WoW. Bye bye GW for me. What Anet is doing really baffles me. O well, WoW + Stockmarket owns GW and their cater for the whiners economy. I played casually in Guild Wars and amassed alot of gold and I play even more casually in WoW and can afford mounts + training + epic weapons before I hit lvl 20...

Its not like usuable Crystalline swords were unobtainable. Its not that its too hard to obtain rare stuff, its I dont have the intelligence to do it.

Collectors weapons, especially shields/focii/wands don't even cover the versatility of being able to mod an inscribeable item with whatever you want. But I do agree the addition of collectors with inscribeable items are a big step in the right direction.

everything that anet has implemented since the release of nf has simply been an attempt to transfer wealth.

the wealthiest players tend to horde gold and rare mats so anet has tried to create a "middle class" of sorts.
with most weapon skins being inscribable, the "casual" player has a better opportunity for decent/desirable skinned weapon drops, that they can actually sell, without investing hours and hours of farming time.

If casual players want decent stuff then they should grind with the rest of the people.

Herb is right this game gets worse and worse for those that enjoy the grind.

I'm still not sure why people that "enjoy the grind" came to a game that was designed and marketed as not having the grind. >.>

Sooner or later Anet will make some sort of trader which you can build any skin you like for a set price...

Im all for it. Let the Guild Wars population see what it feels like to have everything handed to you on a plate for nothing. One of the reasons I stopped playing was because it got to the point where I could buy anything I wanted and thus lead to me not having anything to work towards and getting very bored.

Maybe you both missed the part where the game promotes itself as less grind. Complaining about the game because it has less and less grind when that's the whole philosophy of the game is making it obvious that you're playing the wrong game for your playstyle.

But if they grinded for hours and days and weeks they'd hardly be casual players anymore. In my mind, one of the greatest qualities of GW has always been that everyone has easy and cheap access to equipment which is stat-wise just as good as the "l33t" stuff. Skill over grind, eh?

And how will this ruin the game for those who still prefer bright, shiny expensive things? Is their stuff suddenly taken away from them? What am I missing here?

Umm..

I can name at least 10 MMO's that are free and offer all the grind you want. Not to mention the constant leveling off of one type of monster, the incredibly low drop chances, the pvp system imbalances(Or no pvp at all),and all the other features that only a person with too much time on their hands would actually enjoy.

If you aren't supposed to have to grind for something, why is the crystalline only dropped from the HoH chest. That obviously promotes extreme rarity and makes it impossible to not have to pay out the ass for it.

Inscribable crystallines imo are the worst idea to come to weapons. Crystalline were rare for a reason, the fact that the good mods were few and far between and that thier drop rate was terrible.

I don't play because it's free lol money is hardly a concern for me (I have WoW/EVE/D&D Online accounts) I'm not sure why I still play GW tbh

I think a lot of ppl are concern about that the price will drop but i think the bigger concern is that Anet is making rare items like crystalline 15^50 common. Many ppl play the game in order to obtain these rare items and when you finally do u really feel a sense of achievement and a great feeling all round. I guess what i'm trying to say is ppl want to feel special and unique by owning items that others don't but Anet is taking that away. They are taking away the excitement, the goal and the satisfaction for many GW players.

Yes the reason was that ANET made it so. And now ANET has made it more common, so what's the point of complaining about it?

And no, I don't give a crap about crystallines. I just find it funny that people are complaining that they're more common now.

Umm then why did you list your reason as that it was free?

Less grind to be able to play on an equal level with others. You don't need crystallines to do anything in Guild Wars.

You completely missed the point. I dont care about crystallines. This isnt just about crystallines. I was just saying that people who were complaining that there is less grind and therefore the game is boring now are playing the wrong game because this game is afterall supposed to be about less grind!

People really should stop automatically assuming that people who don't like grind want all the "high end" stuff.

.-. this is kinda annoying.

I never liked Crystallines.

But its a vanity item.

Making it inscribable reduces its vanity value severely.

ALSO!~~!

If HOH is now dropping inscribable, does this mean Inscribables are now going to be CORE??
